Formed by the merger of two healthcare systems in 2018, Ballad Health operates 21 hospitals and employs more than 3,000 physicians and providers to serve the Appalachian region. In addition to comprehensive patient care, Ballad is moving medical knowledge forward as a center for research in a variety of therapeutic areas, and thus opening opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials. For their efforts improving infant health, two Ballad Health hospitals were recently named “BEST for Babies” award recipients by the Tennessee Department of Health.
